STEAK DONENESS GUIDE RATED IN EMOJIS

How do you like your meat done? 🤔

When testing for doneness use a meat thermometer to determine the accurate temperature.

STEAK TEMPERATURES by emojis:
🥩 Rare (125ºF) Center is bright red; pinkish towards the outside
😘 Medium-Rare (135ºF) Center is very pink; slightly brown towards the outside
🙂 Medium (145ºF) Center is light pink; outer portion is brown
🙃 Medium-Well (155ºF) Center is slightly pink; outer portion is brown
🗑 Well Done (165ºF) Uniformly brown throughout

The USDA recommends that steaks and roasts be cooked to 145°F and rested for at least 3 minutes.

To ensure food safety, ground beef should be cooked to a minimum 160°F. Be sure to check with a thermometer, as color alone is not a foolproof indicator of doneness.
