The Miyazaki Wagyu brand name can only be applied to black-haired Wagyu born and raised in Miyazaki Prefecture.
Miyazaki Prefecture is located in Southern Kyushu and has the second largest wagyu population in all of Japan.
Miyazaki Wagyu’s claim to fame is winning the National Wagyu Grand Championship in 2008 and 2013. Miyazaki wagyu has global notoriety for a consistently high quality product.
Miyazaki Wagyu is known for brighter pink meat color interspersed with fine snow flake like marbling.
Only the Wagyu with BMS 6 or higher qualifies to be called Miyazaki Gyu.
