Nebraska’s Governor Jim Pillen’s Trade Mission Transitions from South Korea to Japan.

Governor Jim Pillen's dynamic trade mission to South Korea and Japan is in full swing, brimming with opportunities to bolster Nebraska's agriculture and clean hydrogen sector in East Asia. Here's a quick snapshot of their journey:

In Seoul, Governor Pillen and the delegation made a resounding impression. They shared Nebraska's outstanding agricultural practices and commitment to clean energy. Meetings with leaders from SK Inc., a Fortune 500 company, showcased Nebraska's attractiveness as an investment destination. They also championed the Mid-Continent Clean Hydrogen Hub, a game-changing collaboration between Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri.

Beefing up relations, Nebraska's legendary beef took the spotlight during a delectable dinner in Incheon. The delegation highlighted sustainable ranching practices, and South Korea, their top beef market, continues to savor Nebraska's quality and remains a sought-after delight among South Korean consumers.

We are more than happy to come to South Korea and share our efforts around sustainability and what we are doing to expand clean energy.”

– Governor Pillen

Paving the way for a green future, discussions on hydrogen energy development showcased Nebraska's commitment to sustainability. Governor Pillen and Nebraska representatives joined a roundtable with Korean leaders, setting the stage for significant progress.

Onward to Japan! The mission now moves to Tokyo, Japan, where Governor Pillen and the team will continue strengthening ties, exploring trade opportunities, and participating in the Midwest Japan Association Conference.
